Our commitment
Date The Real Me prohibits child sexual abuse and exploitation of any kind. This includes, without limitation, child sexual abuse material (CSAM), grooming, sextortion, trafficking, the sexualization of minors, and any attempt by an adult to make contact with a minor for sexual purposes. Violations result in immediate removal, permanent account termination, preservation of relevant evidence, and reporting to the appropriate authorities.
An adults-only platform
- Date The Real Me is intended solely for people aged 18 and older. Every member must confirm they are at least 18 to create an account.
- Members are asked to complete a live selfie check that is compared with their profile photos. This helps keep out impersonation and fake accounts. It is not an age check, so our age rules, moderation and reporting tools apply alongside it.
- Accounts we identify as belonging to a minor, or as misrepresenting age, are removed. We do not knowingly permit anyone under 18 to use the service.
How we prevent and detect abuse
- Automated content moderation. Images uploaded to the service are screened by automated moderation that flags suspected minors, sexual content involving minors, and other prohibited material for review and action.
- Verification. Selfie verification, matched to profile photos, reduces anonymity and deters bad actors.
- Reporting and blocking. Every profile and conversation includes tools to block and report. Reports of suspected CSAE are prioritized.
- Enforcement. We remove violating content and accounts, preserve evidence as required by law, and cooperate with law enforcement.
Reporting child sexual abuse or exploitation
If you encounter content or behavior that sexually exploits, abuses, or endangers a child:
- In the app: use the Report option on the relevant profile, message, or content and select the child-safety reason.
- By email: contact our child-safety team at childsafety@datetherealme.com. Reports are reviewed promptly.
- Emergencies: if a child is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services right away.
In the United States, suspected child sexual exploitation can also be reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) CyberTipline at report.cybertip.org or 1-800-843-5678. Outside the U.S., report to your national child-protection hotline or law enforcement.
Our legal obligations
Where we become aware of apparent child sexual abuse material or the exploitation of a minor, we act to remove it, preserve applicable records, and report to NCMEC and/or the relevant authorities in accordance with applicable law. We maintain a designated point of contact for child-safety matters and for law-enforcement requests.
